In a recent interview discussing the finale of Hulu's biographical miniseries Pam & Tommy, Sebastian Stan addresses the potential of returning for a second season. Pam & Tommy is a biographical drama series centered on the real-life marriage between celebrated Baywatch actress Pamela Anderson and Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee. The series, adapted for Hulu by screenwriter Robert Siegel, dives straight into the couple's tumultuous marriage while focusing on their infamous sex tape that was stolen and illegally distributed for the entire world to view. Initially set to star James Franco as Lee, Stan signed on as his replacement in 2020 opposite Lily James' Anderson.
Upon its official release in February 2022, Pam & Tommy captured the attention of both audiences and critics alike, earning a respectable 78% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. However, the series does not come to audiences without controversy. Regardless of its apparent critical approval, the miniseries has also faced its share of criticism, most notably from Anderson herself, who never agreed to the production in the first place. Claims of misguided interpretations regarding specific events and people spin around the rumor mill as well. So, in response to the series premiere on Hulu, Anderson announced a deal with Netflix to craft her own version of the story via an exclusive documentary.
