As part of its 2022 roadmap, Rare announced that Sea of Thieves would be receiving a whole host of new content. Along with Sea Forts, ongoing Mysteries, and more cosmetic rewards, a new game mode called «Adventures» is also coming to the game in the next few weeks. Adventures should excite long-time fans and give newcomers a reason to check out the game if they haven't before.

Sea of Thieves' brand-new Adventures are designed to be story-focused content that will be gradually added to the game over time. Each new Adventure will likely feature a brief cinematic that details the plot and characters that are integral to the story being told.
Each Adventure in Sea of Thieves is going to be like a chapter in a book, with the narrative evolving over time through each new Adventure. Each Adventure will release on a monthly basis and will last just two weeks, which will help to keep players invested, but does mean that some players may end up missing out on an important story detail if they don't have the chance to play through the Adventure within the time limit.
