Arthur Morgan’s adventure has officially been experienced by more than 43 million people Red Dead Redemption 2 climbs the all-time best-selling list. Red Dead Redemption 2 entered the top 50 best-selling games of all time less than two weeks after it hit store shelves when it was announced that it had sold more than 17 million copies. Since then, the game has steadily been increasing its numbers and has no doubt contributed to the first Red Dead Redemption cracking the list as well.
Unlike the original game, Red Dead Redemption 2 has attracted a large community of modders thanks to its PC release. Furthermore, many would argue that Arthur Morgan is a more compelling protagonist than John Marston. Combine these with a vast, open world, an exciting narrative, and endless ways to play, and Rockstar has one of the best games in history. Red Dead Redemption 2’s legacy has developed as quickly as its fanbase has. Since its October 2018 launch, the game has enjoyed roughly 100 award nominations, winning roughly a quarter of them. This includes four wins and four additional nominations at The Game Awards 2018 where it was given a Game of the Year nod and the prize for Best Narrative. If it wasn’t for God of War being released the same year, it likely would have done even better on the awards front.

However, something Red Dead Redemption 2 now has that God of War does not is a top-10 status on the all-time best-selling list.
