Rare has just detailed Sea of Thieves' content roadmap for 2022, continuing with its «Season» system, and adding new content to the game every three months. Season 6 is set to release in the next few months, but there is some brand new, exciting content heading to the game a little before then.

The focus of Sea of Thieves' sixth season will be the new Sea Forts that are going to be littered around the game's world. These Sea Forts act similarly to raids, but Rare has stated that solo players will be able to play and complete these events as well.
The premise is simple, stone forts have started emerging from the sea, and players are tasked with storming their way through the encampment, collecting keys, opening doors, and defeating all the spectral enemies inside. Once all the ghostly pirates have been taken care of, some unique cosmetic loot will be given to the player. There are going to be a total of six Sea Forts added with the Season 6 update.
