The Sea of Thieves team dives into the next Community Weekend, this weekend, with details on the festivities and rewards. They also discuss upcoming updates, and talk about more balance changes for the Blunderbuss.
The Season 13 Community Weekend takes place this weekend, September 21st through 23rd. Play at any time during the event to unlock the community weekend flag and the Shimmy Dance emote. You can claim a Community Spirit Firework crate from the Merchant Alliance for more celebration. The photo op spots aldo return to a number of Outposts for some memorable souvenirs.
Pop-Up Plunder also returns, and treasure will start spawning on every server at various times through the weekend. The Community Storage Crate is one of the new rewards. Looking for even more to do? Grab a time-limited Bounty Voyage to set off on a hunt for Flameheart’s captains and challenge them.
The event also offers the opportunity to level up the Community Emissary grade by tuning into Sea of Thieves streams on Twitch. Boosting that up together will get more Allegiance, gold, Renown, and reputation for all. New Twitch Drops are also on offer, with several rewards, including a special community stretch goal –the Obsidian Captain’s Table.
Recently, Sea of Thieves held a Fight Night event, with faction battles for glory, Allegiance, and gold. The community enjoyed this competitive experience and the team is looking into how they can bring this back as a regular event. Yet during the event the number ofcheating and exploit reports they got spiked, so they're working things out first before they can move to make it a more available competitive event.
Finally, the Blunderbuss is getting more changes. Previously, Rare nerfed it a little bit and took away the one hit kill, replacing that with a powerful knockback. This knockback is also now proving to be a little too powerful, so they're working to tweak that knock back to be less powerful but more consistent. Speed Knives are also coming,
