Samsung has unveiled its AI-enhanced Neo QLED 8K TV alongside a range of Micro-LED, and OLED options for its 2024 TV lineup.
The influx of AI has been widespread into every other segment of the industry, and it looks like the display markets might now see a new "revolution" through it. Samsung Electronics has announced new models in its QLED, MICRO LED, OLED, and Lifestyle display lineups, with each having a common addition, "AI-powered" goodies. It seems like next-gen display products, specifically those targeting the entertainment segment will indeed see AI as a primary catalyst for their sales traction and popularity amongst consumers.
Starting with the highest-end entries, the Korean giant has unveiled the Neo QLED 8K and 4K TVs that offer top-of-the-line display panels and specifications, however, our focus would be on the products' AI elements. The TVs will reportedly feature Samsung's "revamped" AI TV processor (NPU), the NQ8 AI Gen3 which is said to be twice as fast as its previous counterpart. Samsung has increased the neural networks onboard up to 512, a whopping eight times increment, along with improvements within several software-based elements, such as upscaling and enhancer technologies.
