Samsung has launched the Galaxy M33 5G, and its specs and pricing position have it as a more affordable alternative to the recently-announced Galaxy A33 5G. The Galaxy A33 5G is the cheapest of the Galaxy-A series trio announced in March 2022. It was announced alongside the Galaxy A53 5G and the Galaxy A73 5G.
A few years ago, Samsung consolidated its non-flagship smartphone series under a single umbrella, the Galaxy A series. Surprisingly, it decided to create two more mid-range smartphones lines after the applauded cleanup. There is the Galaxy F series which is sold mainly in India by the Walmart-owned Flipkart and also in China, while the other is the Galaxy M series which is sold primarily online in India and Europe.

The Galaxy M33 5G looks very different from the Galaxy A33. Although it has a notch, too, Samsung has opted for the Infinity-V display type instead of the Infinity-U display available on the Galaxy A33 5G. The design changes extend to the back as the Galaxy M33 5G has its rear cameras in a squircle and arranged in a fashion similar to the burners of a gas stove. The phone isn't water-resistant or dustproof, but its display is protected by Gorilla Glass 5. It is available in Dark Blue, Khaki Green and Brown.
Compared to the Galaxy A33 5G, the Galaxy M33 5G has a more prominent display at 6.6-inches, but it is an LCD FHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate. In contrast, the Galaxy A33 5G has a 6.4-inch AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate.
