After months of anticipation, Samsung finally unveiled its Galaxy S22 lineup. And like Apple's iPhone 13 series, there’s a phone in there for everyone (as long as you’re willing to pay at least $800, that is).
We're still working on our Galaxy S22 reviews, but at first glance, Samsung’s latest flagships appear to be worthy alternatives to Apple's handsets. Here's a rundown of how they compare in terms of specs and features.
The $799.99 Galaxy S22 and $999.99 Galaxy S22+ look a lot like their predecessors, but Samsung made a few modest changes. For example, both phones now sport a glass back panel, which looks and feels more premium than the Galaxy S21's plastic back. The color options are also a little different: you can get either phone in black, green, pink, or white.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy S22 Ultra looks just like a Galaxy Note (which it effectively replaces). The design stands out from the rest of the trio because of its sharper edges, all-glass body, and S Pen slot, while discreet lens bumps replace the unified camera module. The S22 Ultra is available in black, burgundy, green, or white.
The $699 iPhone 13 mini and $799 iPhone 13 also closely resemble their predecessors. Both the newer and older models have glossy glass backs and an aluminum chassis. A square lens bump on the back of the phones protrudes slightly. Each of these models are available in black, blue, pink, red, or white.
The $999 iPhone 13 Pro and $1,099 iPhone 13 Pro Max look more sophisticated thanks to their stainless steel edges and frosted glass finish. The camera stack looks the same, but with the addition of another lens. The Pro models are available in blue, gold, gray, or white.
