Ryan Reynolds and Mark Ruffalo team up in the first footage for their new Netflix movie, the sci-fi action adventure The Adam Project. Reynolds stars in the film as Adam, a time-traveling pilot who seeks help from his 12-year-old self to confront their late father while also on a mission to save the future. Alongside Reynolds and Ruffalo, the cast for The Adam Project includes Walker Scobell in his screen debut as a young Adam, Jennifer Garner as Adam's mom, Catherine Keener and Zoe Saldana in undisclosed roles.
Development on The Adam Project was first announced in 2012 when Paramount Pictures circled the rights to T.S. Nowlin's spec script, originally titled Our Name is Adam, with Tom Cruise in line to star. After nearly a decade of sitting on the shelf, Netflix would later acquire the rights to the project with Stranger Things executive producer Shawn Levy attached to direct, a new script draft penned by Jonathan Tropper based on Nowlin, Jennifer Flackett and Mark Levin's previous drafts and Reynolds set to star. With production on The Adam Project having wrapped in early 2021, Netflix is finally giving audiences their first glimpse at the project.
