Ryan Reynolds jokes he is getting too old for Deadpool 3's stunts. The actor is coming off a busy year in which he starred in The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard, the box office sleeper hit Free Guy, and the star-studded Red Notice, which quickly shot up Netflix's charts as the streaming service's most-watched movie of all-time. Reynolds will look to top that in 2022 with the time travel flick The Adam Project, which reunites him with Free Guy director Shawn Levy and releases March 11 on Netflix.
Looking further ahead, Reynolds will be reprising his fan-favorite role as Wade Wilson in Deadpool 3, which doesn't yet have a release date. After a highly contentious appearance in 2009’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Reynolds' Merc-with-a-Mouth finally got his own proper solo film in 2016, which was followed by a sequel in 2018, both of which honored the R-rated energy of the comics. While the first two Deadpool films were from 20th Century Fox, Disney's acquisition of the studio and all its assets means the Mouse House will now be handling the third installment. Disney has promised not to mess with Deadpool's successful formula, though many fans are nervous due to the studio's propensity for projects rated PG-13 or under.
