Like with movies and TV series, seeing a video game crossover between two great franchises can hype up any gamer. Some titles like Fortnite and Dead by Daylight have built a lot of their audience on crossover events. For every crossover game that makes sense, like the Super Smash Bros. franchise, there are those that seem an odd mixing of IPs. Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle was one such title that had fans confused at first. However, when it released in 2017, the game proved to be a surprise hit with fans and critics, and many were excited when a sequel, Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope was announced.
Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope features strategy gameplay, similar to the first title, with a new and unique setting that sees players shoot off on a Mario Galaxy-style adventure, facing off against a new and mysterious foe. Alongside returning fan-favorite characters like Mario, Luigi, and Rabbid Peach, Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope will also feature new heroes like Rabbid Rosalina.

With a vague release date of 2022 set for Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope, many fans were expecting to see a more solid launch time soon, with the upcoming Nintendo mini Direct presentation seeming like the perfect time to drop more information. However, it seems that the release date for the game may have already been leaked on the Ubisoft store, which indicated that the game will arrive on October 20, 2022.
This date makes sense if Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope is still aiming for a 2022 release date without looking to clash with other Nintendo exclusives like Splatoon 3 which launches in September and Pokemon Scarlet and Violet which drop in November this year.
