Even with Call of Duty: Vanguard having recently kicked off its third season, complete with a major event featuring monsters like King Kong and Godzilla, many fans have begun to turn their attention to the future of the series. With Infinity Ward now in the lead developer role for the next upcoming game, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has managed to become a highly anticipated title following in the footsteps of the successful 2019 reboot.
While Activision has at least confirmed the next major Call of Duty release to be Modern Warfare 2, not much is known about the upcoming shooter. Naturally, leakers and rumors have attempted to fill in the knowledge gaps until Activision fully reveals the game. For now, fans are hoping that many of the rumored details are true including a long sought after firing range, a brand new game mode called DMZ, and even the potential of running the game at 120 FPS on launch day.
Call of Duty Pro Has Supposedly Heard Bad Things About Modern Warfare 2
While there's still plenty Call of Duty fans don't know, famed leaker TheGhostOfHope has again shed light on even more Modern Warfare 2 details. In addition to the campaign and multiplayer, Modern Warfare 2 is rumored to be launching with a third dedicated mode called DMZ, which takes inspiration from games like Escape From Tarkov. However, this mode may also be introducing a highly required feature in the form of a marketplace where players will be able to trade cosmetics.
