Bounty Hunt, the main game mode in Hunt: Showdown, requires players to collect three Clues in order to determine the location of a boss, but understanding the secondary mechanics of the Clues can be beneficial in the game's PvP aspects. Player-controlled Hunters are the game's most dangerous enemies, and the Clues themselves are an important tool in tracking the movements of opposing teams.
The best locations to find loot in Hunt are the named Compounds where players will be searching for clues. There is a total of 19 Clues in every game, spread across 16 Compounds, with three of them containing two Clues each. Every Clue that is investigated will darken a portion of the map, eliminating certain Compounds from the list of possible boss locations. Two Clues can be taken from a single Compound only if the first Clue taken there doesn't darken that Compound's portion of the map.

Combined with the knowledge that every spawn point location is around the map's perimeter, seeing how the possible boss area shrinks will help anticipate where enemy Hunters might be headed.
Listening carefully for gunshots, scattering flocks of birds, and other noises will help determine the locations of other Hunters, but many experienced Hunt: Showdown players are adept at staying quiet.
