Apple TV+'s dark dramedy Physical returned for season 2 last week, and its premiere episode saw protagonist Sheila (Rose Byrne) in a better place career-wise after having secured a distribution deal for her exercise tapes. Of course, that doesn't mean all is well in her world, as the series is known for tackling difficult material such as eating disorders and infidelity
Physical season 2 dives right into the middle of her marriage to Danny (Rory Scovel, I Feel Pretty), which is more on the rocks than ever thanks to the recent losses he's faced in his job and election. Not feeling like the man of the house causes him to lash out, and the stress of that dynamic combined with her new job certainly doesn't make things easier for Sheila.

Screen Rant spoke to Scovel about the shift in Danny and Sheila's marital dynamic, as well as how he's handling his family and professional life during the second season of Physical.
Screen Rant: Rory, I'm very impressed by how Danny and Sheila manage to keep on trucking against all odds. Can you talk about their marriage and where we find them in season 2?
Rory Scovel: Yeah, we find them having a major dynamic shift between the two, with Danny having been fired from his job in season 1 and then losing the election, while at the same time here Sheila is crushing it with her aerobic videotape business.
The dynamic has shifted. Danny is now in the backseat. He's not the breadwinner for the family; he's not the man of the house that he maybe saw himself being, and I know that is a huge change in his ego, for sure. As we see this season, Danny now is going to try to step up and be a better dad and be a better husband.
