Actor-director Ron Howard shares how proud he is of his daughter Bryce Dallas Howard's work in Star Wars. Ron began his career in acting as a child before transitioning to work behind the camera where he has arguably has had a more successful career. He has directed many fan favorites films such as Backdraft, Apollo 13, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, and A Beautiful Mind, where he won the Academy Awards for both Best Director and Best Picture. The director also managed to score his own Star Wars film with Solo: A Star Wars Story, which told the origin of Han Solo and Chewbacca's partnership. Ron will serve as executive producer for the upcoming series Under the Banner of Heaven, a true crime drama about a murder within the Mormon church based on the Jon Krakauer nonfiction book of the same name. The series is set to debut on Hulu April 28.
Bryce followed her father's footsteps by beginning her career as an actor before slowly taking a more active role behind the camera as a director. Although the star continues to act, she has directed short films, documentaries, and television. Bryce has since directed an episode in each of The Mandalorian seasons, and one episode in The Book of Boba Fett. All three episodes have been well-received by fans and critics alike, with Bryce's Boba Fett episode, «The Return of the Mandalorian,» frequently singled out as the best episode of the series.
