Rockstar Games has updated the credits for Red Dead Redemption 2 and its Red Dead Online counterpart, seemingly saying goodbye to the open world western. Red Dead Redemption 2 studio Rockstar Games is busy working on Grand Theft Auto 6, and it seems to be shifting its attention away from its older games to focus on the new title. This was apparent recently when Rockstar Games sent out a similar message for Grand Theft Auto 5 and GTA Online.
Rockstar recently released a «thank you» to those that worked on GTA 5 and GTA Online, which many have taken as a sign that the company is saying goodbye to those games. Now a similar message has been released for Red Dead Redemption 2, accessible via the game's pause menu. As of the latest update, players can now head directly to the credits through the Red Dead Redemption 2 pause menu to see who made the game and Rockstar's special message for them.
Red Dead Redemption 2 Cut Questline Reveals a Load of Hidden Content
The message reads: «Our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has helped create Red Dead Redemption 2 and Red Dead Online.» The message was added as part of the latest Red Dead Online update, which added some new missions for players to do in the game. While Rockstar has not outright stated that this is meant to be a goodbye to Red Dead Redemption 2 and Red Dead Online, that's certainly how the community is taking it, and it does seem to be the studio's intention.
The Red Dead Online update came as such a surprise because Rockstar had previously indicated that it was done releasing major new content for Red Dead Online.
