Rockstar Games, the studio behindGrand Theft Auto, has posted a photo of Queen Elizabeth II on Twitter and stated that she was an influential leader whose presence will be missed. The post comes after the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, Britain's longest ruling monarch and one of the most prominent individuals in global politics. The Queen was ninety-six years of age and passed in her Balmoral home, where many members of the Royal Family were traveling to see her. Rockstar Games is hardly the first company to pay tribute to the Queen, as corporations and individuals around the world have expressed their sadness at her death.
Rockstar Games is not an English company and yet, like many others, it has still decided to acknowledge the historic reign of Queen Elizabeth II. The Queen held her position for more than seven decades, and will be succeeded by her son, King Charles III, in what many have described as the end of an era. Clearly, though Queen Elizabeth didn't have many ties to gaming, her death has been felt by businesses and industries around the globe.
