Nintendo UK won’t live stream tomorrow’s Nintendo Direct “as a mark of respect” to Queen Elizabeth II, it’s said.
The broadcast, which has been confirmed totake place tomorrow will be “published as a video-on-demand on our YouTube channel at 16:00,” Nintendo UK said.
This decision has been made in light of the death of Her Majesty The Queen Elizabeth II last week. The Direct will be available to stream live on Nintendo’s other region social channels as normal.

The live stream will start at 7am PT / 3pm BST and feature “roughly 40 minutes of information mainly focused on Nintendo Switch games launching this winter”.
Giant Bomb journalist Jeff Grubb – who first broke news of the upcoming Direct – had claimed this weekend that, following the death of Queen Elizabeth II, that Nintendo was considering rescheduling the live stream entirely.
However, Grubb said that despite Nintendo having communicated to its development partners that there could be a delay in scheduling, it was decided to push ahead.
“This discussion happened at Nintendo of America, and then they had the full discussion with everyone who would be a decision maker – in Japan for the most part – and it doesn’t seem the plan has changed as they reach out to partner publishers, indie developers and stuff like that,” he said at the time.
Grubb alluded to the 2018 delay of an announced Nintendo Direct due to a major earthquake in Japan – which was later re-scheduled – and said that the company likely wanted to avoid a similar situation.
