The second season of Psyonix Studio’s excellent mobile version of Rocket League, Rocket League Sideswipe, is kicking off today. And it’s bringing with it new unlocks, a new mode and more. More like what? Well give us a second and we’ll tell you.
Hoops is out for this season, and it’s being replaced by Volleyball. There’s a net in the middle of the arena, a special ball and no goals. You score points when the ball hits the ground, meaning there’s plenty of scope for frantic saves and ridiculous shots.
There are a bunch of new fan-favorite items from Rocket League coming too. Such as the Supernova and Dueling Dragons Goal Explosions, Sunset 1986 Wheels and the Breakout Car.
Elsewhere there’s a new Casual Playlist. Here you can play against other real human people, practicing your skills and super shots, but it won’t change your rank.
There are season challenges to work your way through, and you’ll get some special rewards depending on your Season 1 rank. You can find out more about that at the game’s official blog right here.
If you haven’t given Rocket League Sideswipe a go yet, you can click here to download it from the Play Store right this second. It’s free with IAP.
