Amazon Studios announced that Reacher, which originally started developing in July 2019, has been picked up for a second season. The renewal news comes merely a few days after it debuted on February 4.
The Amazon Prime series —based on the best-selling crime novels by Lee Child— follows retired police officer Jack Reacher (Alan Ritchson) as he finds himself caught in a dangerous conspiracy filled with corrupt politicians, businessmen, and cops after being wrongfully arrested for murder. Armed with nothing but his wits and determined to prove his innocence, Jack sets off to uncover the dark truth behind his arrest.

While it remains unclear exactly when season 2 is scheduled for release, Child and Santora seem to be happy with Reacher's reception. «Partnering with Amazon Studios for season one of Reacher was a total delight — they had our backs every step of the way, and it really shows, in every line and every frame», the author said in a joint statement with Santora. «So I’m thrilled we’ll be working together again, for season two.»
