The first image from The River Wild remake shows Single Parents stars Leighton Meester, Taran Killam, and Adam Brody reuniting for a thrilling action-adventure. Directed by Curtis Hanson and released in 1994, the original River Wild film featured the likes of Meryl Streep, Kevin Bacon, and John C. Reilly. Following a family forced to fight against violent criminals while on a rafting trip, the movie grossed over $94 million at the box office and earned Golden Globe nominations for both Streep and Bacon.
The new reboot of The River Wild will follow a brother (Killam) and sister (Meester) who love, but distrust, one another. They'll embark on a white-water rafting trip with a small group that includes the siblings’ childhood friend (Brody) — though he may be more dangerous than he appears. The project will be directed by Ben Ketai, who worked with Brody on the drama series StartUp. Ketai also wrote the script with Mike Nguyen Le.

The River Wild could deliver an exciting role for Meester and continue the trend of darker turns that Brody displayed with his performances in The Kid Detective and Ready or Not.
