The Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice was admitted to the hospital for what has been called an "emergency medical procedure." Giudice, who was also featured in the first season ofThe Real Housewives: Ultimate Girls Trip, had another surgery recently to address issues related to varicose veins but otherwise seems to have generally been in good health. The reality star, who spent time in prison for financial crimes, took up yoga while there and is known on the show for her love of working out. In 2018, she trained to compete in a fitness competition and ended up winning first place.
Giudice, who divorced husband Joe after he completed his own stint in the big house for his role in the crimes, began dating Luis Ruelas after they met at the New Jersey Shore. The two recently got engaged in Greece when Ruelas got down on one knee amid a lavish fireworks display to pop the question. Much of her storyline this season on RHONJ focuses on their relationship (which was fairly new at the time of filming) and her co-stars' suspicions about her new man's character. Interestingly, Giudice's hospitalization comes right on the heels of news that Ruelas is being sued by a vendor and has also filed for bankruptcy.

According to Page Six, Giudice had been hospitalized but didn't have details about the specific procedure she underwent. Her eldest daughter, Gia Giudice, took to Instagram to post a photo of her mom masked up in a hospital bed. In her caption, Gia said, “Such a trooper. I love you," and asked fans to “pray for a speedy recovery.” So far, neither Ruelas nor anyone else in her immediate family has made social media posts about Giudice's hospital stay.
