Gigi rose to fame sometime around 2013 when she started modeling for Guess Jeans, and her career only skyrocketed from there. While the star ultimately chose a very glamorous career path, Gigi was very athletic as a teenager. In older episodes of RHOBH, Gigi was seen talking to Yolanda about her love for volleyball and struggling to choose between sports and modeling.
In recent years, Yolanda received a lot of backlash for things she said to her daughters on the show. Fans believe the star was instilling damaging beliefs about body image into her daughters' minds and causing them to have issues with their appearance. In one clip, Yolanda advises Gigi to give up volleyball, which she refers to as a masculine sport, so that her body will not be too bulky for modeling. In another, the real housewife pressures Gigi to stay on her diet so she can be as skinny as the other models in Milan.

While Gigi had a few appearances on the show, she admits she didn't always love being on camera.
