Resident Evil 4, Resident Evil 7, and Resident Evil Village have all launched for iOS and Mac devices with the M1 chip or later over the course of the last year or so, and though they’ve all failed to sell well, Capcom is continuing its rollout of titles in the survival horror franchise for Apple platforms.
An iPhone, iPad, and Mac port of the acclaimed 2019 remake of Resident Evil 2 was announced earlier this year, and the port has now released. As with previous aforementioned ports, it’s a full, paid title, though Capcom is selling it and all other Resident Evil titles at a 75 percent discounted price on the App Store until January 8- so this is the perfect time to nab those games, if you intend to.
Whether Resident Evil 2 will be able to sell much better on the Apple platforms than previous RE releases remains to be seen (though it does look unlikely), but across all platforms, it continues to be a big seller for Capcom, having surpassed 14.5 million units sold as of earlier this year.
Resident Evil 2 is also available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Read our review of the game through here.
