After much teasing from Ed Boon, Reptile, Havik, and Ashrah have been confirmed as the latest fighters coming to Mortal Kombat 1 at EVO 2023.
EVO 2023 is just about to come to an end but, as teased by Ed Boon earlier in the month, Mortal Kombat 1 wasn't leaving without a big announcement. We were all expecting at least one new character to be announced for the game but it looks like the team at NetherRealm Studios didn't want to leave the event without a big surprise as it announced three fighters joining the roster.

As revealed in the "Banished" trailer, Reptile, Havik, and Ashrah are the next three fighters joining Mortal Kombat 1's roster of 24 characters. The trailer showed perhaps the best iteration of Reptile yet, one that switches between his original human form (well, including some awesome new tattoos) and a more reptilian one. In fact, one of the unique things about Reptile is that he can actually switch between his human and reptile forms during combat, which should please both sides of the fandom.
Reptile wasn't the only beloved character revealed to be returning to Mortal Kombat 1, however. Ashrah was the next character to be shown during the trailer, which isn't too surprising considering she's been rumoured to be on the roster for quite some time now. The footage showed that she fights with a sword, which makes her quite a unique character in a roster that mainly fights with fists.
