Tech giant Google is apparently testing a way for people to play games via YouTube.
That's according to The Wall Street Journal, which reports that the search behemoth has asked staff to try the project out in an internal test. The product is called 'Playables' and allows users to stream games to a variety of platforms, including PC or mobile devices.
The service will also allow consumers to play games via the YouTube app on smartphones and tablets. Games on the platform right now include an arcade title called Stack Bounce.
If you are thinking that this sounds familiar, then yes it's not a million miles away from the Stadia platform that Google launched in November 2019 and closed earlier this year. It's not clear whether this uses some of that services' tech or whether this is a brand new product.
A spokesperson for YouTube said that games had long been a focus for its business, but said it had "nothing to announce right now" with regards to Playables
