The Realme Pad had been in the spotlight for all the negative reasons lately. Despite being only 4 months old, Realme had denied updating the tablet to Android 12, without citing any reason. After weeks of facing backlash from the community and users, Realme has now gone ahead and confirmed releasing the Android 12 update for its first tablet. Yes, Android 12 is coming to the Realme Pad.
Based on a GSMArena report, it is said that the company will now release the Android 12 update to the Realme Pad. However, it won’t be arriving anytime soon. Realme says that the Realme Pad will get the Android 12 update by the third quarter of 2022. This means you can expect to see the update between July 2022 and September 2022.
Along with the OS update, Realme has also confirmed releasing three years of security patches to the Realme Pad. Again, there’ no timeline on his one yet.
Realme, however, does not mention whether the Realme Pad will get the Android 13 update. The report also mentions some of the features on the Android 12 build for the Realme Pad. Realme says that the tablet will get a new enhanced lockscreen and notifications UI. Additionally, the Android 12 update will also bring scrolling screenshots, a one-handed mode and improved widgets.
With this update, the Realme Pad now becomes an even better value, given that it faces competition from Motorola’s Moto Tab G70 LTE. Motorola has also promised an update to Android 12 for its tablet. However, the Motorola tablet is more expensive and sits in a higher price category.
