Realme 9 Pro series FINALLY has a launch date! It is coming to India before other markets on February 16 and will be unveiled via an online livestream event. As the teasers suggested, there is a Realme 9 Pro and a beefed-up Realme 9 Pro+. Realme has floated a dedicated product page that reveals some of the highlights on the higher-tier Pro+ variant. Nothing on the pricing of these models has been revealed yet.
The Realme 9 Pro+ is the new hero model of the Realme 9 series, packing some high-end specs. The biggest highlight is the presence of a new Sony IMX766 camera sensor, which Realme claims is borrowed from its flagship Realme GT series devices. Along with the Sony sensor, the main camera will also have OIS, which is almost absent these days in the sub-Rs. 25,000 space. A much-improved Street Mode is also coming with this phone.
The Realme 9 Pro+ has also been confirmed to feature the MediaTek Dimensity 920 chipset, which has proven itself on the Xiaomi 11i launched in January 2022. This hints at the Realme 9 Pro+ taking on the Xiaomi 11i, thereby making it one of the most expensive Realme 9 devices we have seen.
Realme also states that the Realme 9 Pro series is 5G enabled, which hints at the standard Realme 9 Pro having a 4G chipset. This lineup could be similar to the Redmi Note 11 Pro lineup this year, which also consists of a 4G model and a 5G model.
Realme also confirms that the 9 Pro+ will get a colour shifting design, which will make the phone change its colour from light blue to red when exposed to sunlight. This is similar to the colour-changing Sunrise Gold variant of the Vivo V23 series, which also changes its colour from Gold to blue under sunlight.
In an earlier tweet, Realme VP Madhav Sheth also confirmed
