HBO Max's Raised By Wolves season 2 is fast approaching, so here's a breakdown of season 1, recapping everything to remember before season 2. Created by Aaron Guzikowski and produced by filmmaker Ridley Scott, who also directed the first two episodes, Raised By Wolves is a science-fiction drama that premiered on September 3, 2020. The series centers on two androids, Mother and Father, who are sent to the planet Kepler-22b, tasked with raising human children following the destruction of Earth.
The futuristic setting of Raised By Wolves sees mankind divided into factions: on the one side, the militant atheists, and on the other, the religious order known as the Mithraic. The religious conflicts between the two factions have devastated humanity's home planet of Earth, which motivates an atheist engineer to send two androids to Kepler-22b with a number of human embryos so that they may create a new human settlement. The Mithraic have also deployed the Heaven's Ark containing the remnants of mankind, in search of a new home.
