Punchline Cosplay Unleashes Joker's New Girlfriend on Gotham
A cosplayer on Reddit has brought the Batman villain Punchline to life, releasing her from the confines of both the pages of DC Comics and the jail cells of Blackgate Penitentiary. Despite being a relatively new character, Punchline has become immensely popular inspiring legions of fans both in the DC Universe and outside of it. One of these fans has channeled their devotion for this character into a stunning cosplay that perfectly embodies Punchline’s look and attitude.
Punchline’s civilian identity is Alexis Kaye. Alexis was a college student who became a Joker fanatic after being caught up in one of the Clown Prince of Crime’s hijinks. She began to experiment with making her own Joker gas, testing her creations on various homeless Gothamites. This eventually attracted the attention of the Joker who soon became infatuated with her. She quickly became both his girlfriend and his second in command. The character is a stark contrast to Harley Quinn, being more serious and ruthless than the Joker’s previous partner. She is also a master manipulator, as she is able to cultivate public sympathy even after committing brutal crimes alongside the Joker.

In a Reddit post, inoecosplay showed off her cosplay of the character riding in a convertible. She is free of her prison uniform and wearing a purple and black costume that is very accurate to Punchline’s look in the comics, even capturing the “X” and “O” lettering on her gloves. She’s also wearing Punchline’s iconic clown make-up on her cheeks and nose.
