It's confirmed that Sony's June 2 State of Play showcase will include a segment on the PSVR 2. The only game that has been confirmed for the device is Horizon: Call of the Mountain, and we still don't have a launch for it either. It seems the showcase will reveal a few more games and perhaps even the launch date, which according to an industry analyst, could be in the first quarter of 2023 (thanks, VGC).
"My latest supply chain check suggests that the assembler and several component providers of PS VR2 will start mass production with about 1.5M units shipments in 2H22 [second half of 2022], Tweeted analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, from Hong Kong-based TF International Securities. "Sony may launch it in 1Q23, depending on the development schedule of PS VR2 game titles.
"I believe PS VR2 will have a good start thanks to the support of 20+ game titles from first- & third-party at launch," he continued. "Sony's position & resources in the game industry can accelerate AAA VR game development (e.g., Horizon Call of the Mountain), benefiting the VR growth."

Ming-Chi Kuo continued the Twitter thread by saying that the use of six optical modules is the biggest hardware upgrade for the PSVR 2, with a company called Genius Electronic Optical being the leading supplier of lenses. He further noted that large orders of lenses of all kinds from Genius will be "a new robust growth driver."
