The PS5 Slim just launched in India on April 5 and a homegrown quick-commerce service is already delivering the console to customers within just 10 minutes. The online retailer is shipping both the digital and disc variants of the PS5 Slim.
Even though the Slim variant of PlayStation 5 initially launched last November, Indian fans had been eagerly waiting for the console until now. Finally, both the regular PlayStation 5 Slim and the PlayStation 5 Slim Digital Edition have hit the shelves in India across online and offline retailers.
As announced in a Twitter post, hyperlocal delivery app Blinkit is delivering PS5 Slim units within a mere 10 minutes to customers residing in Bangalore, Delhi-NCR, and Mumbai. Notably, the console is available to order on the platform right off the bat, starting from its April 5 launch date. While the disc version of PS5 Slim is retailing for INR 54,990 (660 USD), the digital edition is retailing for INR 44,990 (540 USD). Apart from that, individual units of the PS5 DualSense controller are also up for grabs on the quick-commerce platform.
Interestingly, this isn't the first time a popular consumer tech product has been up for grabs on Blinkit at launch. Back in September 2023, the service made the Apple iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus – models from the latest gaming-focused iPhone lineup – available for purchase from the first day of its India launch. Similarly, the entire Samsung S24 lineup also landed on Blinkit just a week after it rolled out in the Indian market.
After the launch of the PS5 Slim, several rumors suggest that a more powerful PS5 Pro is on Sony's agenda next. In addition, the rumored console is expected to release later this year.
