Sony has revealed the next set of games coming to their premium subscription services, PS Plus Extra and PS Plus Premium.
Available from 19th December, there’s some great time sinks here for the upcoming holidays at the end of the year. Whether it’s the headline acts of Grand Theft Auto V (hot on the heels of GTA 6’s reveal) or Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin, or indy games like the Shadowrun trilogy, you can sink plenty of hours into the 14 games being added to PlayStation Plus next week.
If you’ve got PS Plus Premium and the Classics game library, then there’s the two Mega Man Legacy Collections (to match Mega Man 11 for the modern game catalogue) and a pair of Thrillvilles for coaster fans.
Also included each month alongside the PS Plus Extra and Premium catalogue updates are the free games as part of PlayStation Plus Essential service. It’s a solid month with the chilled out PowerWash Simulator our pick of the bunch, but something for the kids with Lego 2K Drive. Here’s the full PS Plus Essential line up.
The PlayStation Plus relaunch rolled out around the world in June 2022, transforming the PS Plus we once knew into a three tiered subscription service that bundles in and expands what was once PlayStation Now. The classic PS Plus is now called PS Plus Essential, giving access to online multiplayer gaming, cloud save backups, exclusive offers and at least 2 free monthly games. PS Plus Extra then adds a catalogue of PS4 and PS5 games into the mix, while PS Plus Deluxe and Premium (depending on your region) adds older PS2, PS1 and PSP game emulation, and game streaming for PS3 and other titles.
