PlayStation Plus has announced the three games in its December 2024 lineup, and they unexpectedly include the winner of a major 2021 Game of the Year award. Beginning with the PS3 era, PS Plus is primarily a subscription service that allows players access to online services. Each month, PS Plus also distributes a handful of free games to subscribers on all tiers, while higher-tier subscribers typically have access to a wider library of perennial titles. Following the usual release schedule, PlayStation Plus revealed its three free games for December 2024 just a few days before the month began.
