Ubisoft has just announced that a free Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown demo is now available on nearly all platforms that are getting the game (Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One as well as Windows PC through the Epic Games Store and the Ubisoft Store). The only platform without access to the demo but scheduled to support the full game is Amazon Luna's gaming cloud service.
Ubisoft said this is a custom demo designed to give players a first glimpse of the epic journey that awaits them in Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown. This demo includes carefully selected sections of the game, with early unlocks of time powers and amulets, to showcase key gameplay features without spoiling the narrative.
Our Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown review of the full game just went live, and it sounds like it's completely worth your time. Francesco De Meo gave it a 9 out of 10 score:
Minor issues aside, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is a thoroughly enjoyable Metroidvania that is not only among the best since Metroid Dread but also one of the best entries in the Prince of Persia series, bringing the franchise back to its platforming roots in the best way possible. If the long hiatus of the series was the price to pay for such a nicely crafted adventure, then it was a price worth paying.
This new entry in the Prince of Persia franchise is set to launch on January 18, although pre-orders of the Deluxe Edition get access to the game three days early. As with all Ubisoft games, it will also be playable via the Ubisoft+ subscription.
