On Tuesday, June 6, Prime Video will add TÁR to its available content. Wrote and directed by Todd Field (Little Children) — who made his comeback after a 15-year hiatus –, TÁR follows the dramatic story of Lydia Tár (Cate Blanchett), a brilliant orchestra conductor whose life takes an unexpected turn after being accused of sexual misconduct. Joining Blanchett are Mark Strong (The Imitation Game), Noémie Merlant (Portrait of a Lady on Fire), Nina Hoss (Homeland), Julian Glover (Game of Thrones), Allan Corduner (Yentl), Sophie Kauer, and Sylvia Flote. Field also produced with Alexandra Milchan and Scott Lambert. TÁR picked up six Academy Awards nominations, including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Actress.
Prime Video will also release the sophomore season of The Lake. The Canadian comedy series follows the attempts of a gay man called Justin (Jordan Gavaris) to reconnect with his biological daughter, Billie (Madison Shamoun). Written and executive produced by Julian Doucet, the series also stars Julia Stiles, Terry Chen, Jon Dore, Carolyn Scott, Natalie Lisinka, Travis Nelson, Jared Scott, and Declan Whaley. Season 2 newcomers include Lauren Holly, Max Amani, and Jhaleil Swaby. The project hails from AMAZE. The Lake premiered in June 2022 and was renewed following a good response from the audience.
Among other things, the Prime Video schedule for next week features Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar, an appreciated sci-fi story starring Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway.
