The Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase has revealed that the Portal: Companion Collection will release later today, June 28, on Nintendo Switch. The Portal: Companion Collection was revealed during the February 2022 Nintendo Direct, though it only had a loose 2022 release window at that time.
Portal: Companion Collection brings Portal and Portal 2 to Nintendo systems for the first time. The original Portal is a highly-acclaimed first-person puzzle game, where the protagonist must escape from a science facility that is being controlled by the sadistic GLaDOS. The only tool the player has at their disposal is the Portal Gun, which creates two portals on stable surfaces, allowing them to bypass hazards. Portal 2 involves the player being trapped by GLaDOS once more, where they must survive her deadly games, as well as the machinations of a new AI, known as Wheatley. Portal 2 also added a co-op campaign, forcing two players to think with portals.

Nintendo will often shadowdrop a big game during one of its Direct presentations, and this time, it was Portal: Companion Collection that was given the surprise release date. Portal: Companion Collection will be available on the Nintendo eShop later today. The Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase can be seen below on the official Nintendo YouTube channel.
The official page for Portal: Companion Collection on the Nintendo Switch eShophas also revealed that the multiplayer campaign in Portal 2 can be played locally, with split-screen, or online.
