Pokémon UNITE Adds Mewtwo

Pokémon Unite is celebrating its 2nd anniversary. With it comes many events, and one of the most powerful Pokémon finally joins the fray, Mewtwo. Pokémon Unite was released in 2021 and has become one of the most successful free-to-play MOBAs on PC and mobile. Totaling over 100 million worldwide downloads and with consistent content releases, the game is not slowing down anytime soon.

Mewtwo is a fan-favorite legendary Pokémon that has existed since the first generation. Debuting in Pokémon Red and Blue, Mewtwo is considered one of the strongest psychic types in Pokémon canon. In Pokémon Unite, Mewtwo grows even more vital when you mega evolve it into Mega Mewtwo X during battle. However, this is only for a limited time since players must complete Mewtwo’s Crystal Cave Challenge event to get the license for Mega Mewtwo X. Fans of Mega Mewtwo Y will have to wait till mid-August to get that license.

Along with Mewtwo’s debut, Pokémon Unite is hosting several events to celebrate. Panic Parade will have players protect Tinkaton from an assault from panicking Pokémon. Defeat the Pokémon, and some may come to help you in return. Pirates are also invading Pokémon Unite through Battle Pass 17. Unlock pirate-themed Holowear like Captain Style: Greedent and Captain Style: Zacian. There is also a captain set for trainers as well.

The Pokémon Center UK is also joining in the celebration. Any purchases made through them will get you Armor Style: Charizard 1-day Holowear rental code beginning July 21. A new season of ranked play is also underway. Lastly, players can predict the top teams for the Pokémon World Championships 2023 and win some in-game rewards. Predictions begin July 28 and last till August 11. Pokémon Unite is not holding
