After launching last summer, the online MOBA Pokemon Unite has seen continued updates and new content are a fairly consistent rate. Developer TiMi Studios has continued to expand the roster of available Pokemon by adding fan favorites like Blastoise, while also some surprises such as Greedent, a newer create from the Pokemon Sword and Shield series.
While free to play, Pokemon Unite has continued to be a major success thanks in large part to its reliance on microtransactions, both through cosmetic items as well as Battle Passes that arrive every so often. Initially, fans were upset that Pokemon Unite felt more like a pay to win style game, where those who spent money had advantages over those who opted not to. Thankfully, updates have quickly fixed this and the game is in a much better state, even if Unite players still have an issue with $40 cosmetic items.
New Pokemon Announcements Happening All Week in Celebration of Pokemon Day
Pokemon Day 2022 has finally arrived and Nintendo had plenty of announcements to share regarding its massively popular franchise. Pokemon Unite seemingly got out ahead of the reveal trailer by announcing that the legendary Hoopa would be the next to be added to the roster, though today's trailer revealed a bit more on the trickster. Hoopa can teleport itself and any allied players out of battle and back to the base, while it's unite move turns it into its Unbound version, which gives it new attack moves that chain to nearby enemies.
