2022 is looking to be a stacked year for fighting games. While it has been a while since a mainline entry was released for one of the genre's major franchises, the end of last month brought the announcement of the highly anticipated Street Fighter 6. Yet, even with such a big reveal for the fighting game community, there's still more for fans to enjoy, such as a new JoJo's Bizarre Adventure fighting game.
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle R is a remake of a PS3 cult classic game, allowing players to pick their favorite characters from the long-running manga and anime and fight each other. The release of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle R coincides with the 35th anniversary of the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure manga and is currently aiming to launch later in 2022. The fighting game seems more than just a remake though, and as was outlined in yesterday's showcase, it will be coming with some tweaks.

Firstly, the game will be getting some new fighters added to its roster. As the initial JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle released back in 2013, and the manga and anime developed by Hirohiko Araki has been heavily updated since then, new characters have been added to reflect this change. JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle R boasts over fifty characters, meaning that ten more than the original game will be available at launch.
Considering the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure anime has also had more adaptations since 2013, the game will include the anime voice acting from Phantom Blood, all the way up to the most recently released Stone Ocean. Voice acting will be included for those characters that have not yet had an anime adaptation, though
