The tradition of adding new evolutions to previously introduced Pokémon continues in Pokémon Legends: Arceus and one of the Pocket Monsters that received a new evolution is Ursaring. Ursaring has never been a particularly weak choice to use as far as Normal-type Pokémon are concerned, but the elimination of long-time mechanics like Abilities in Pokémon Legends: Arceus hindered Ursaring's utility greatly. With a new, beefy evolution, Ursaring has new potential when it reaches its final form, Ursaluna.
Ursaluna is a Normal- and Ground-type Pokémon, a dual-type combination that has been seen in previous Pokémon games. While it retains immunity to Ghost-type attacks and receives 2x damage against Fighting-type moves, Ursaluna gains all the benefits and weaknesses of a Ground-type Pokémon. With a new item that works similar to the Dawn Stone in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, Ursaring can evolve into Ursaluna under certain conditions.

Before players can get an Ursaluna, they'll have to first capture an Ursaring or capture and evolve a Teddiursa. Fortunately, both Pokémon and the new item to further evolve Ursaring are all located in the Crimson Mirelands. Teddiursa and Ursaring can be found in Ursa's Ring area of the Crimson Mirelands, and the Pokédex will list this location as their only habitat area. However, despite what the Pokédex has recorded, Ursaring and Teddiursa can also be found in the area of the map south of the Golden Lowlands title and west of the Gapejaw Bog. The Pokémon found in this area of the map will be much more powerful and on a higher level, including Alpha Ursaring in Pokémon Legends: Arceus.
