One of the main ways that Niantic has kept Pokemon GO fans engaged with the game over the years is through regular events that feature special bonuses, rewards, and new Pokemon to catch. Pokemon GO has regularly been adding new Pokemon through the ongoing Season of Alola, itself featuring multiple special events each month. The next big Pokemon GO event is the 2022 Water Festival, scheduled to begin on Thursday, May 12 at 10:00am local time until Friday, May 20 at 8:00pm local time.
The Pokemon GO Water Festival 2022 event will see the debut of Generation 7 Pokemon Dewpider in Pokemon GO. Besides Dewpider and Araquanid, Pokemon GO players will also have the opportunity to catch a special Lapras while the Water Festival event is live, with this version of the popular water/ice-type Pokemon wearing a scarf.
