With a new Pokemon generation on the horizon, fan speculation is high. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet surprised fans when it was announced for a late 2022 release, a little sooner than some were expecting. So far, only the three starter Pokemon have been revealed, meaning that there are a ton of new Pokedex additions not yet shown. Fans are hoping to see some new and/or strong type combinations in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet — and one pairing in particular.
This combination is Fairy/Dragon, which has been discussed and requested by fans since the introduction of the Fairy type in the sixth generation of Pokemon games. Fans generally speculate that a creature of this type would be both powerful in battle and adorable to look at. There are a number of reasons why Game Freak would be wise to consider including a Fairy/Dragon Pokemon in Scarlet and Violet's Pokedex.
Known Pokemon Leaker Hints at New Regional Forms for Legendaries
A hypothetical Fairy/Dragon-type Pokemon would be resistant to no fewer than seven other types of damage — Electric, Fire, Grass, Water, Bug, Dark, and Fighting. It could potentially be completely immune to damage from other Dragon-types, while able to do extra damage to them in return. The generally high Special Attack stats of both types would create an effective attacker, though it would be no slouch in Defense or Special Defense either. Its only major weakness would be Steel-type Pokemon, which would deal it extra damage and be resistant against its offensive moves.
