As with all previous Pokemon games, Pokemon Scarlet andViolet will feature a mix of brand-new Pokemon and returning Pokemon from previous generations. So far, the two trailers that have been released for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet show a varied mix of creatures from all eight previous generations, as well as a handful of brand-new Pokemon including both common early game Pokemon and ultra-rare Legendaries.
The second trailer for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, which was released on June 1, 2022, nearly doubled the amount of Pokemon confirmed to appear in the ninth generation of games. In addition to introducing new Professors and other characters, it showed off returning Pokemon from Kanto to Galar, as well as several new creatures joining the world of Pokemon for the first time in Scarlet andViolet. Strictly speaking, it's possible that Scarlet and Violet could introduce new evolutions for familiar faces, so it's hard to say if the following Pokemon from the Scarlet and Violet trailers will all use the same evolution lines or if Game Freak has some surprises in store.

The original 151 Pokemon still remain extremely popular, so fans were not surprised to see many Pokemon originating in the Kanto region appearing in Scarlet and Violet. So far, this region features the most representation, with a total of seven confirmed Pokemon, including recurring franchise mascot Pikachu.
Additionally, though a live Dratini has not appeared so far, a fountain bearing the likeness of this Dragon-type Pokemon from Kanto did show up in the first trailer for Scarlet and Violet, resulting in fan theories that Dratini will appear in the wild as well.
