The announcement of Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet's Legendary Pokemon has created a very spicy discourse among fans. Koraidon and Miraidon, much like the Pokemon Professors Sada and Turo, are split between what's being looked at as «Ancient» and «Future» forms. Pokemon fans then posit that it only makes sense for other Pokemon to follow in Koraidon and Miraidon's footsteps. That means that Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet could feature both Ancient and Future regional Pokemon variants.
For those unfamiliar with Japanese, Koraidon and Miraidon make the association with past and future very simple. The word «korai» in Japanese means «ancient,» and the word «mirai» means «future.» This is also mostly clear just based on the Legendary Pokemons' aesthetic, with Miraidon being a robotic dragon with jet engines. Koraidon is less overtly ancient, but does look more natural based on its plumes and antennae.

Similarly, the Pokemon Professors for Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet's names also match up also reflect this dichotomy of past and future. Professor Sada's name in Spanish is taken from «pasada,» which means «past.» Professor Turo's name is taken from the Spanish word «future,» which obviously means future. Professor Sada has also been described as having a «cavewoman» style with leather sandals, ragged tears on her clothing, and even fangs. Professor Turo, in turn, is wearing what looks like some sort of futuristic bodysuit. He looks like he's from Tron.
