The purpose statement for Pokemon Go, at least when it launched, was to bring people together. It's not very often that a video game makes people get out of their houses and actually meet other people, and Niantic nailed the formula. Even during the Covid 19 pandemic lockdowns, the devs brought Trainers together via the Remote Raid Pass.
However, the Pokemon community is not at all happy with the new changes announced for the feature. The developer has limited the number of Remote Raids you can participate in one day, and has also increased the prices of Remote Raid Passes when bought individually. The community has voiced its opinion and even called for a boycott. Unfortunately, there's always a bunch of idiots who tend to take things overboard.

Clearly clueless about how a professional streamer works, some idiots have berated FleeceKing for buying an in-person ticket for the upcoming Pokemon Go Fest.
"This has gone way too far now and I’m very hurt," Tweeted FleeceKing. "Encouraging me to suicide, saying I don’t have a real job, mocking my life & people who support me all because I bought a ticket to a in person Go Fest.
