Niantic has officially announced Pokemon GO Fest 2024, revealing its dates, locations, and ticket prices, among other details. The biggest Pokemon GO event of the year will be held over three extended weekends starting in late May and will conclude with a global event in mid-July.
Niantic has been hosting Pokemon GO Fest on an annual basis ever since launching its hit mobile game in 2017. The 2023 iteration of Pokemon GO Fest was held in New York City, London, and Osaka. NYC will return as a host this time around, joined by Madrid and Sendai.
The Japanese leg of the event will take place from May 30 to June 2, whereas the Madrid segment will run over a three-day period starting June 14. The festival will then move to New York City from July 5 until July 7. Niantic is planning to conclude the festivities with a special global event scheduled for the weekend of July 13 and 14. Pokemon GO Fest 2024 tickets are already available for purchase, with prices being in the ballpark of $25. Sendai, Madrid, and New York City tickets are all currently available at early bird discounts amounting to approximately 15%, depending on the location.
Niantic hasn't attached a specific end date to these promotional price tags, but if Pokemon GO Fest 2023 is any indication, the offer will likely expire come early April. All tickets will remain available for purchase until the last day of their respective events.
The star of this year's festival will be the Mythical Pokemon Marshadow. Niantic has already teased Marshadow's Pokemon GO debut ahead of the official event announcement, later confirming that the creature will be obtainable as a limited-time Special Research reward. The promo will feature over 70 pocket monsters in total, not accounting for several costumed Pokemon such as Pikachu and Eevee with Pokemon Sun and Moon crowns.
The in-person events will also feature Klefki, a Generation 6 creature resembling a key ring that Pokemon GO players can normally only encounter in France. Emolga,
