A Pokemon fan has had the same Charizard for almost two decades. One feature that Game Freak's RPG series has had for a number of years is the ability to transfer older Pokemon into newer titles. This has allowed players to hold onto their creatures from older generations and keep their partners right by them as the years go by.
Charizard is one of the more iconic pocket monsters in the series. The Pokemon is one of the original 151 and is the final evolution of the Fire-Type starter Charmander. Charizard has been featured in the franchise's anime and trading card game, and was the main creature that Leon used in Pokemon Sword and Shield. One gamer has a good amount of love for his Charizard, which he has had since he was a child.

On TikTok, a user named Sergio showed off the Charizard that he has had since playing Pokemon FireRed on the Game Boy Advance back in 2004. Sergio states that he would migrate the pocket monster into every subsequent generation, going through the Nintendo DS and Switch entries of the series. The player brings up the fact that if the Charizard had been a child born back when he obtained it in 2004, it would have entered college this year. Keeping a Pokemon through the years and generations as Sergio has done takes a lot of love and commitment for the creature, and the video game franchise as well.
A number of commenters on TikTok were able to relate to Sergio as they too have kept a Pokemon for many generations by continuously transferring it.
