It looks like the rumors were true. Sony has just announced that we're getting a State of Play tomorrow, but instead of a focus on God of War: Ragnarok, we're going to get a "special focus" on PlayStation's Japanese developers.
Tomorrow's State of Play presentation will be 20 minutes long and starts at 2 PM PT (5 PM ET, 11 PM CET). Sony notes that there will be no discussion "on PlayStation VR2 titles or hardware in this broadcast." Instead, the State of Play presentation will highlight "great games coming from some of our beloved Japanese publishers, though we’ll have a few updates from other developers located around the world, too."

Japanese publishers will likely include Square Enix, which is working on both Final Fantasy 16 and Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2. There are also rumors about a Metal Gear Solid 3 remake, or something else having to do with Konami’s wayward stealth action title.
We might also finally get to see Sony's coming Game Pass competitor, Project Spartacus. Rumored to launch in the first half of this year, reporter Jeff Grubb recently tweeted that Spartacus should at least begin testing in the very near future.
