Last week, Sony revealed a bunch of new games coming from Japanese publishers and developers, including one game where you fight off hordes of dinosaurs while piloting a mecha suit. This week, Sony is leaving The Land of the Rising Sun, getting on a broom, and traveling to the Wizarding World to check in on Hogwarts Legacy.
The next State of Play will arrive on Thursday, March 17 at 2 PM PT (5 PM ET). The 20-minute presentation will focus exclusively on Hogwarts Legacy with 14 minutes of gameplay footage captured on the PlayStation 5. There will also be interviews with Avalanche Software team members as well as a follow-up blog post with even more details.

We’ll probably also get a brand-new trailer, according to a rumor that surfaced at the end of last month. The same insider that told us Hogwarts Legacy is planning to launch sometime in September also said that this new trailer will be “the good one,” which might mean we’ll finally get an official release date too.
Things looked pretty shaky for Hogwarts Legacy just a few short months ago. Initially set to arrive in 2021, Avalanche began that year by delaying Hogwarts Legacy to 2022, and then ended 2021 with a non-update just to remind us that Hogwarts Legacy was still alive. Then there were rumors of the game’s cancellation that thankfully turned out to be false, but it really did seem to be touch-and-go for a while there.
While Hogwarts Legacy seems to be real, we know very little about it. Warner Bros. has kept their cards close to their chest and released very little info about the game. We know it’ll be an open-world adventure game where you play as a witch or wizard at Hogwarts.
